Introduction
What are Rudraksha Beads?
Rudraksha beads are one of the most popular types of prayer beads. They are believed to have originated in India, where they were used by Hindu priests and monks as a way to meditate on their spiritual journeys. The word “rudraksha” comes from the Sanskrit word rudra, which means “to cry” or “to weep.” It’s thought that this name came about because when you wear these beads, they can help you shed tears of joy as well as sorrow–a sign that your soul is being cleansed by its connection with God.
Rudrakshas come in many different forms: round, oval and triangular shapes; large sizes for wearing around the neck; smaller sizes for wearing on fingers or wrists (known as kalas). Some people wear them all at once while others choose just one type depending on what feels right for them personally–there’s no right answer here!
What is the Spiritual Significance of Rudraksha Beads?
The spiritual significance of Rudraksha beads is rooted in the myths and legends associated with them. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva had a son named Skanda who was born from his wife Parvati’s forehead. Skanda is also known as Kartikeya or Murugan. The Lord is said to have given his divine powers and blessings to these beads so that they could protect their wearers from evil forces and negative energies by absorbing them into themselves instead of letting them affect us adversely
Rudrakshas are believed to promote spiritual growth and consciousness through their healing properties when worn regularly by devotees who believe in the power of these sacred beads
How Does the Number of Mukhis Affect the Power of Rudraksha Beads?
When you look at the number of Mukhis on a Rudraksha bead, you will notice that there are several different types. The most common and traditional type is one with three mukhis; however, there are also four-mukhi, five-mukhi and six-mukhi.
The appearance of each type varies slightly from one another due to the varying number of faces on each bead. For example: two faces means they have two sides; three faces means they have three sides; four faces means they have four sides (and so on). This may sound confusing but it’s really not as hard as it seems once you start looking at them closely.
There are also differences in spiritual significance between these different types because each represents different qualities within us – our body parts such as eyes or nose etc., mental states such as anger/fear etc., emotions like love/compassion etc., deities such as Vishnu or Shiva etc., planets like Sun & Moon etc., deities associated with elements such as fire/water etc.; even animals like cows & snakes.
